Even though we can’t do many of our favorite activities right now, we are still able to get outside, exercise, and enjoy some fresh air. That’s why we are encouraging all employees (and your families) to join in the PCR Challenge.
The PCR Challenge is a virtual group activity that lasts through May that motivates you to move, have fun, and feel great. And…you have a chance to win cool prizes each week! Here’s how to participate:
Register for the In This Together – May Challenge!
This is a virtual race series that aims to raise money for local businesses. You’ll get a finisher’s medal and will be entered into weekly raffle drawings. ***NOTE: PCR will pay for all entries for your immediate family who wish to participate! Just sign up and expense your registrations to Uncle Kev.***
Sign up for the PCR Challenge.
In addition to the In This Together- May Challenge we have set up our own private group on the fitness app Strava where we can log our activities, see what our co-workers and their families are up to, offer encouragement…and…win more prizes (details below).
To join the Strava group:
- Download the Strava App on your phone and create a free account.
- Search for “Drew Dinan” and follow him (He’s the guy holding a fish).
- Drew will send you an invite to join the group.
Set a goal!
We all have different fitness goals, but the overall PCR goal is just for everyone to get out and move. It could be walking, biking, running, hiking, or any legal activity that promotes fitness :).
Set a goal for the month of May and do your best to accomplish it.
Log your activities on Strava.
You can use the app on your phone to record activities, or if you have a GPS watch you can pair it to Strava to download your activities automatically.
Each week we’ll be raffling off great prizes for employees and their families to win. There will be a separate adult category and a kids category each week! So encourage your children to move too!
We’ll do a team call each Friday to announce the winners live!
***For every 30 minutes of activity you do each week, you’ll earn one ticket into the weekly raffle!*** So if you do two hours of walking in a week, you’ll get four tickets.
You don’t need to do one activity that lasts 30 minutes, you can do two 15-minute walks, and still earn a ticket. It’s the total number of minutes you do in a week, divided by 30.
Prizes TBD, but there will definitely be food and beer gift certificates, and other cool things from local businesses. In other words, we’ll make it worth your while to participate!
Try and avoid crowded areas when doing your activities. You may need to get creative and do your runs/walks/rides early in the day or find some new trails or less populated streets. The most important thing is to be safe and to continue to practice social distancing.
